It was a different experience for the team when the call to prayer was echoing from the distant mountains at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium: Australian captain


 



 Pat Cummins described the experience of listening to the call to prayer in Pakistan as unique



 Rawalpindi (Urdu Point latest newspaper. March 4, 2022) Pat Cummins is very happy to be part of the Australian squad visiting Pakistan after a gap of 24 years.  Cummins, who is leading Australia in the Test series, said it was "amazing" to be part of a historic tour and called it a "special moment" in his life and career.  The 28-year-old pacer shared some unique moments that the Australian team experienced on their tour.


 Cummins said the team had a new experience when the call to prayer was echoing from the mountains at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.  Cummins said he had never had such an experience before and that the entire team was learning all the time during the tour.  The Ashes-winning captain added that he was looking forward to the first Test match (currently underway at the Pindi Cricket Stadium) and could not wait to step on the field in front of the packed crowd at the stadium.

 He said that the Australian team is excited about the possibility of influencing a generation of cricket fans in Pakistan who have not seen top flight cricket on their home turf for a long time.  Cummins thanked the officials and personnel involved in making the visit a reality.  He said that from the point of view of security, the entire squad is comfortable as they have been provided with high level of security and they have been made to feel extremely secure.  He concluded that it was a lifelong experience for many players in the team as it could be the only opportunity for them to visit Pakistan during their careers.
