We're on the field with two front line pacers and two spinners, I'm a sniper too: national captain

LAHORE: National cricket team captain and number one batsman in the T20 and ODI batting rankings, Babar Azam, has hinted at off-spin bowling against Australia in the Pindi Test.  Talking about the pitch and playing XI after winning the toss today, Babar Azam said that he is also a sniper and could possibly bowl during a Test match.

The captain of the national cricket team said that the pitch was looking good so we would try to score as many runs as possible. He also said with a laugh that "I am also a sniper".

Three spinners Noman Ali, Sajid Khan and spin bowling all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed have already been selected for the first Test.

The reason for the addition of three spinners is that the pitch is suitable for spinners.

Babar Azam bowled against Bangladesh last year and managed to take one wicket for 1 run in 2 overs.  Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam took the first wicket of his international career by LBWing Mehdi Hassan Miraz in the second Test against Bangladesh.  Earlier, the ICC had released an 11-year-old video of Babar Azam saying that he had taken a wicket in the semi-finals of the 2010 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
